Doug Williams is an Atlanta-based Director of Photography whose work spans narrative film and short-form projects, with a strong foundation in lighting and on-set execution. He was raised in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York.

Before his career in film, Doug spent eight years leading technical teams on complex projects. That experience continues to inform how he approaches production. With an emphasis on preparation, clear communication, and calm leadership on set, he thrives in the chaotic world of filmmaking.

His goal is to support the production and to bring what's in a director's head to life, all with a commitment to the story being told.

Doug has shot multiple independent narrative projects and has worked with actors including Shelley Duvall, Billy Zane, Edward Furlong, and Dee Wallace. He is comfortable leading and collaborating with multidisciplinary crews across a wide range of budget levels.

While often drawn to moody, atmospheric storytelling, Doug applies the same craft and intentionality to brighter, performance-driven work when the story calls for it. He loves the creative challenges that every shoot brings.

He focuses on creating images that support narrative while navigating the practical realities of production.

Doug has experience shooting with a range of camera brands: Sony, RED, Arri and more.

His past experience working in G&E lends him an intimate understanding of the logistics and nuances of lighting, and how to apprehend technical problems on set before they show up.
